Ian joined the Sales Team at Novatech in November 2010 as an Applications Engineer. He was promoted to Technical Director in July 2014 and became Managing Director in March 2016, although he continues to be the main point of contact for sales enquiries. He achieved a Masters Degree with Distinction in Aerospace Engineering from Kingston University London.
Prior to working at Novatech, Ian worked for 4 years as a project Engineer at Aerotech along side Dan. Together they were part of a team manufacturing wind-tunnel equipment such as large scale 6 component balances requiring the use of high precision loadcells. The move to Novetech presented the opportunity to further specialise in the design and manufacture of force measurement devices and torque transducers. Ian prides himself on finding solutions to complex customer requirements and has a proven track record of innovative bespoke designs.
During his career to date, Ian has worked on projects alongside Engineers from various F1 teams and Aerospace companies and was part of a hand picked team of three chosen to commission an acoustic array, worth in excess of $2M, on site in the Subsonic wind-tunnel at the NASA Langley Research Center.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys socialising and playing tabletop games with other members of the Hastings and St. Leonards boardgames group. He also regularly attends art and music events, films and live comedy.
